In the report Superintendent LaFountain reiterates that “In general, foreclosure activity at Maine banks and credit unions appears to be lower than in many ot...her states, and it does not pose a threat to the stability of Maine-chartered financial institutions.”

WASHINGTON (AP) -- FDIC chief Sheila Bair says there are no immediate plans to borrow money from the Treasury Department to shore up the shrinking deposit insurance fund.
