Jerry Art in the Pearl (downtown Portland) this weekend, sounds fun. Bring you rain gear it's that time of year. But with all the "HOT" art, it's going to be a blast. There is good food around too. Hope to see you all there.

Jerry It's been to quiet on our site here. Either everybody is showing there work and making money. Or where all to boring to put anything on the site. I hope we are all to busy myself. Anybody doing shows lately ?

Sunny Upcoming .... PNWS BOD meeting, next Wed, July 8th AND that is also the night of our monthly PNWS meeting for our members -- 7pm. Just so happens that we will be hosted by Caswell Gallery in Troutdale, so if you didn't get to Rip's opening, this is the perfect time to introduce yourself to his newly remodeled space.

Sunny Here's a terrific way to enjoy different perspectives of Rip Caswells work, and to see what embracing the "digital age" can do for the business of art. Rip gets it ... present your passion. Do that in a way that a viewer can be drawn into your work. It doesn't matter who the viewer is ... be that person a curious ne...t surfer, a gallery owner, a press rep, or simply one who is a lover of art AND potential client. It just matters that you present what you do in a beautiful visual way so it can be appreciated. Take a look ...

Sunny More good "news" about one of our own ... check this out ... Congrats, Patrick, this is terrific! :-)

Sunny Always good to get up close and personal with another artist's work! You'll have another opportunity at next month's meeting -- come join us ;-)

Sunny Our monthly meeting was FAB tonight ... many new faces ... WELCOME to All. Julian was a terrific host and informative presenter -- he certainly sparked excellent conversations. It was announced that if members have anything they need to get the word out about -- exhibitions, honors, media coverage, special quotes, st...ory/photo coverage -- make sure we know about it. If you are sending it to Prez Carole or Newsletter Editor Jim, make sure you cc: our PR Committtee Chair ... ME ... Sunny LeGrand. You can post to me here or directly via sunny@legrandconnections.com.

Sunny Rip Caswell's Grand Re-Opening last night was a terrific event. To see his new facility was a treat, but viewing his work is breath-taking. True to form, Rip was a gracious host and warm in his acknowledgements of those who helped him get to this point in his career. His invitation to visit the new gallery was empha...sized by his appreciation of those who cannot afford some of the pieces, but come because they "feel better just being there". I echo that feeling ... being in the presence of his art is to connect with the essence of those extraordinary people and animals. Look into the face of "Cougar on the Rocks" and you'll instinctive get out of his way. Look into the eyes of Athena in "Red Stagg and Athena" and you'll fleetingly feel like prey ... well, certainly see the intent and focus on her elegant face. Conrgats, Rip -- PNWS is very happy for your success and honored to have you among us!
