The University of Portland International Student Services Office
University of Portland will host annual International Night, Saturday, Nov. 21.
Open:5:00pm
Dinner:5:00pm-7:00pm
Show:6:30pm-8:00pm
Tickets: $8 or University meal plan, children six and under are free.
Tickets are available at the door and include all food and events.
Enjoy the company of friends while savoring the internati...onal cuisines from six countries:

The University of Portland community will travel around the world with the diverse music and dance of local performers. The night will showcase:
-The Celtic band "Wild Hair"
-Flamenco (UP student)
-Tango with a piano and a cello
-Chinese martial arts from US Wushu Center
-Salsa (UP salsa club)
-Hawaiian music (UP students)
-Indian Bollywood Dance from Bolkywood Movez
These performers will be your guide as you begin your World Odyssey.
University of Portland alumna, Katie Hargett Kelley will be ex-hibiting her world class photography while the International Club hosts a tra-ditional cultural dress photo booth for all those who attend.

War Dance: Movie & Discussion Mago Hunt Recital Hall, Tuesday, 17th 7:00pm – 9:45pm
Learn what is happening in Uganda and be inspired by the children's joy and hope in energetic dance and music!
International Club will host a free screening of the Academy Award 2007 nominee “War Dance.” This documentary is about childre...n from war torn northern Uganda competing in the national music competition.
The movie will talk about a real-life story about a group of children whose love of music that brings joy, excitement and hope back into their poverty-stricken lives. Three children who have suffered horrific brutalities discuss the horrors that they have experienced and express their individual fears, hopes, and dreams. Through the children participating in music, song and dance in school, the movie shows the power of the human spirit and music that triumphs against tremendeous war-history.
Discussion led by Fr. Claude Pomerleau and Ugandan student Caroline Nakaye.

Portland is one of the leaders in terms of sustainability in the world. Sustainability issue is increasingly discussed in the media, news, and your neighbors. Now it's your chance to learn and share your experience with us....
Our panelists from around the world will contribute their experience and perceptions regrading sustainability in their home countries to the discussion. The event is open to all students, faculty,and staff.

This weekend included beach time, barbeque, big old spruce trees, bonfires, lots of Tillamook cheese, icecream, and NEW FRIENDS!
