Dutchess County Government DPW continues to improve county roads! Starting 9/21 weather permitting, paving work will be underway on CR 8 Green Haven Road from Route 216 to CR 9 in the Town of Beekman. There will be alternating one-lane traffic from 7am to 5pm for approximately one week while work is completed. Please plan accordingly for potential delays when using this route.

Exercise your mind with BRAIN GAMES! The Office of the Aging has added another Brain Games to the 13 classes around the county. The new class will be held every Thursday at Howland Library in Beacon from 10-11am. Brain Games is fun program for seniors that uses memory games and puzzzles to help expand brain power. Dutchess County Government More county road paving updates! Next week (starting August 31st) weather permitting, there will be paving work on Bruzgal Road (CR 21) from Rt.55 to CR 9. Work should take about a week. There will be alternating one-lane traffic from 7am to 5pm so be prepared for some delays when utilizing this route.

Dutchess County Government Office for the Aging will host "Adopting a Heart Healthy Diet" at several Friendship Centers this month. There is one today at Hyde Park Senior Friendship Center starting at 11:15am. Enjoy the lecture and then stay for lunch for a $3 donation (those over 60) and $4 for those under 60. Protect your pet! Take advantage of the DC Health Dept's FREE rabies clinic this Sunday, 8/9 from 11am to 3pm at the LaGrange Town Hall in partnership with DC SPCA. County residents can get rabies shots FREE for dogs, cats or domestic ferrets ages 3 months and older. Cost for non-residents: $10/vaccination.
