absolutely....you asked a question i think about everytime i listen to musical "conversations" between two musicians....esp in a melody-rhythem conversation.....or a jugalbandi (two melodic instruments)

Donald Fagen and Walter Becker are master humorists in popular music - The horn arrangements in My Old School, the muted trombone parts in 'The Royal Scam', Black Cow, King of the Road, the muted trumpets up a whole tone in the outro of 'What a shame about me' - the list is endless!

its easy to fall in love with Frank even if one is not into his music. what a funny, super intelligent, iconoclastic individual. i often read transcripts of his interviews for inspiration. his autobiography is hilarious and savage at the same time.
