This song is more than 200 years old and is usually sung and played in the
Newari community on the occasion of Vijaya Dasmi ( Dashain ). This song was
first recorded by Prem Dhoj Pradhan in 1963 on Radio Nepal. Mr Durga lal
Shrestha polished the old lyrics to fit the young audience and Mr Prem Dhoj
Pradhan polished it and ...added his own music touch to it. The tune on this
song is also known as Malashree Dhun ( Dashain folk song). The lyrics of the
song describes, how the Dashin Bhoje is celebrated by the Newari community.
