While President George Washington supervised the construction of the White House he was never an occupant. As the last stones of the foundation were placed, the cornerstone was set on top of a polished brass plate with the following inscription;

"This first stone of the President's House was laid the 13th day of October 1792, and in the seventeenth year of the independence of the United States of America."

It is not my intention to doubt that the doctrine of the Illuminati and the priciples of Jacobinism had not spread in the United States. On the contrary, no one is more satisfied of this fact than I am." - George Washington.

From what I have read about President George Washington, he was a well read man, though he was not considered a brilliant intellectual, however, his obvious abilities to work with people are what earned him the title of the first President!

Contrast this with the ineptness of President Obama fumbling the oath and having to take it twice.

Because fumbling with an oath reflects your capabilities of being a president ...?

Let's not take the spotlight from Washington now. This is about him, not Obama.

Great scene and great miniseries on John Adams. I didn't realize that Washington was barely audible in his first inaugural. I read in the book "Jefferson's Pillow" that the only person today that is comparable to how Americans viewed Washington back then is how South Africans view Mandela today.
