Prison Fellowship
Hear from Hattie who just finished our 18 month IFI program:
Before coming to prison I had lost all hope in my life. My dreams had come to an end because of my drug addiction. I was living a life full of chaos and darkness. I had lost my child, my career, and was losing my health. I was driving myself insane. When I rec...eived my prison sentence I knew my life was really over. I contemplated suicide and barely made it to prison alive. When I got here I struggled with a sense of insecurity. The life that I knew was gone. I felt like a fish out of water. My self-esteem had been destroyed and I knew that I needed to use this time to straighten out my life. A couple of ladies suggested that IFI would be good for me. I came into this program seeking to fill the hole that the drugs had left in my life, and I gained so much more. My self-esteem is better than ever. I am a strong individual who radiates hope to others. IFI has brought me to a new understanding of love and live. I have been empowered. Restoration has been the core value that has affected me the most. My life and sanity have been restored, and now I have hopes and dreams again. I am more confident than I have ever been. My husband has seen how much I have changed and he wanted what I have so he joined the IFI program at Tucker. Our relationship has grown as a result of that. This prison sentence has been the best thing that has happened to me in a very long time. I just finished my 18 months in the IFI program and was chosen to stay on and be a member of the ‘Restorative Counsel” for the new group of women. I thank God and IFI for creating in me a new life, new hopes, and new dreams.

the Bible tells us. Why? Because God's gift of forgiveness and hope extends to those behind bars. No matter what they've done, no matter how far they've fallen. Jesus had this surprising habit of hanging out with the "losers" of society - the ones other people looked down on. ...

Prison Fellowship This Christmas help an ex-offender who is transitioning back into the community. When you GET a new tshirt for a $19 donation, you in turn also GIVE a dress shirt and tie to a prisoner who is just getting out so he can wear it to a job interview. A simple way to help an ex-prisoner succeed on the outside. Visit www.forgivedontforget.org.

Prison Fellowship Let your voice be heard on Capitol Hill! Ask your Members of Congress to support the HOPE Initiative Act of 2009. This will give state and local governments the resources to set up probation programs that cut drug use, crime, and the cost of imprisonment. Use the sample letter at our Legislative Action Center to write your representative today!

Karen Elizabeth Williams Three strikes laws mean that this guy could get 77 years in prison for stealing a couple donuts. Where's the justice in that? And, do we really want to spend over $40,000 a year to lock up someone who stole $1.25? We've got to get some common sense in our sentencing laws!

Another interesting story surrounding California's three-strikes law: Clearly, this man is a career criminal, but should he be sentenced to life for this crime? We want to hear your thoughts

Prison Fellowship Every Christmas, Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree® program helps imprisoned moms and dads connect with their children by providing gifts to the children on behalf of their parents in prison. Each gift comes with a personal message from mom or dad. Sponsor a child today that lives in a hard-to-serve area and make sure Ch...ristmas is a special time for them to connect with their parent and hear the good news!
