Prisoner of Vampires generates harmonious strata of synthesized tones for public consumption. His first album, Space Opera, is available from Sleepy Mammal Sound.
Prisoner of Vampires is ill. Prisoner of Vampires is not well. Prisoner of Vampires is not his real name.
Prisoner of Vampires can be well for short periods of time with the help of his machines. The machines give him life. They also give him the gift of sound and the gift of movement. For a time he can delight and even dazzle others with these gifts. But afterwards he is very tired and must rest.
Sometimes the machines fail. We don't know why. They are not perfect; they are a work in progress. They are in many ways as fragile as Prisoner of Vampires himself. We must take good care of his machines. They must take good care of him.
Prisoner of Vampires sings about these things and other things. He sings about fear of death. He sings about detachment and nostalgia, darkness and dreams, skeletons and metaphorical astronauts. In many ways he is still a child. But he is actually very old.
Prisoner of Vampires was born with a rare condition that makes him totally anonymous. It is impossible to remember his name or what he looks like. He is an orphan; he has no influences, living or dead. He has influenced no one.
Prisoner of Vampires grew up in a locked room away from human love and human language. He knows about these things now, but they do not touch him. Not directly. He is like a small dog who has been dressed up in fancy clothes, but there is actually no dog there. He is a set of fancy clothes suspended in air for no good reason.
