Project Nepal

Project Nepal Sunrise over the Annapurna section of the Himalayas. Sorry for all the dust specs - I guess my sensor was pretty dirty... Photoshop to the rescue.

I'm praying for you, Pete, that God would speak His truth through you and you'd know His peace.

Project Nepal Back in Kathmandu after 3 wonderful days in Pokhara. We continue to run into unplanned opportunities for ministry wherever we go. There are many great believers here.

OK, so I'm a lurker. But I've been following everything closely from the Audioboo reports to the videos of you boys in Qatar and hanging out with water buffalo to Pete's musings in the Greasy Rag about the viewfinder of his life. Very inspiring! So did you finish the MTB ride in the dark?

There are some moments that you know are being added to the View-Master of your life as you experience them. I can vividly remember sitting at Rubio’s Taco stand overlooking the river that empties ...

Project Nepal We're now in Pokhara after a harrowing drive through most of western Nepal. Imagine Lombard Street for 6 hours straight. The conference was amazing. This is the most primative tribal living you could imagine in the world today and the church is alive and well. By the way, it didn't turn out to be a men's conference... - more women and children than men.

Project Nepal Dawn, who came on a recent trip was kind enough to send all these backpacks with us for the kids. Each pack had a coloring book, small game or toy. They all just lit up when they received them. I'm so glad we didn't forget any of the kids!

Project Nepal

Project Nepal We have no poverty in the U.S. I mean that compared to what we are seeing in Kathmandu. Of course you always hear about the poorest of the poor, but it can't be understood until you see it with your own eyes. If you have a moment of peace today, or beauty, or comfort - stop and thank God for your blessings.

thanks for this reminder. it also makes me realize how the blessings can often become more important than relationship with Christ - something believers in Nepal beautifully get right.

Project Nepal The children's home that Udaya and Bakti run is incredible. They have 17 kids plus two of their own. Some of them were found left on the steps of Hindu temples. They started this orphanage with no money and no jobs. At first, they prayed daily for money to buy food. I saw these kids laughing and playing, caring fo...r each other, singing and dancing. It was truly a beautiful sight.

Project Nepal Plans today are to get oriented and meet Udaya at the orphanage this afternoon. After meeting Shalome yesterday, I can't wait to see the rest of the kids. Udaya has already been a great help bargaining for the taxi and hotel room. The adventure begins!
