Over the counter meds. I have tried the few topical creams you can get at your local pharmacy without much luck. After doing some research, I have found that both Apple Cider Vinegar and Oregano oil (which varies greatly in price at various stores) both have worked wonders. Using both directly on the skin or diluted into a bath.
They both stop the itching, they both cool the skin down and both seem to stop the psoriasis progressing. I have suffered with this at for a long time and these are fantastic, I urge anyone looking for alternatives to give both a whirl.
I am also testing an Indian herb, which I ingest and will let you know any results within the next few weeks.

Monika Mohamed its 4 am and i cant sleep. its so itchy... dont wanna take tablet, coz i may not get up for work in the morning. bad day.... i am brave, not scratching. just watching places and... well... dont scratch...dont!!

Arelys My relative has psoriasis that covers about 70% of hisa body...so I know how this feels...and it's definately a hard thing to cope with...I have it also but very little of it...I hope they can find a cure for this very soon...

Rachel SQian I really wished i have to courage to wear shorts and go out and be confident like her but how could i ?my legs are like 95% with psoriasis. And the people here would stare til their eyes pop out. seriously.

Monika Mohamed ...and one more.. very important thing... it happens often, that people around you seeing changes on your skin let you know that you are not accepted anymore as partner... its hard to mantain good relations with someone who avoids you only coz you look different a bit. but believe me..once you will have someone who let you feel like there is nothing wrong, who.. by chance loves you and makes you feel beautiful no matter what.... changes on skin improve. endorphines also cure...

Monika Mohamed hi.... im having mine for last 6 years. came suddenly over the night after serious stress. scared me badly... and i had to face the fact - i became ugly for ever. it was treated at first with the soft paraffin and alternatively with divonex and salibet. It wasn’t bad, changes got smaller, but my ulnar nerve got damaged... got tablets also.. neotigason. thanks God i managed to maintain cholesterol level. but... got tire around my tummy. Good friend advised spa treatment in Safaga in Egypt. tassalotherapy.. Easy and pleasant. i am not the morning person, but i had to get up early morning to deep myself in the salty sea water and sun tan after. Imagine... no ointments, no tablets... just normal summer holidays at the sea side. Getting tanned, enjoying sea side like any other tourist..and all among same affected. no more shame of ugly skin. Effects are great... by the end of course.. Small changes go away; huge hard patches leave the skin smooth and even area of changes get far smaller.

That should be a tv commercial to make everyone aware at how serious this is. I get funny looks all the time. Afraid to wear shorts or sleeveless shirts or dark clothing because it always looks like you have dandruff. We need a cure in the worst way. I'm doing the Philadelphia walk along with my daughter. I've had psoriasis for a little over 12 years now and I'm tired of hurting and being depressed.

My name is Jessy and my two year old son Tanner has had Psoriasis since he was 6 months old, I'm still confused about this disease and I've done plenty of research... but I'm am so completely terrified for him when he starts school... hopefully by then I will find something that works for his skin... I pray constantly that there is a cure found... it breaks my heart to think that my son will have to deal with this disease for the rest of his life...

Hina I think the common thing that I've noticed is stress, be it work, responsibilities, or trauma. Something happened to make this disease come in our lives. I would like it if everyone around who didn't have psoriasis to realize this is not a light matter. To me it is something I live with everyday for 8 years now. I want it to be acknowleged, that this disease needs a cure just as much as heart desease or cancer. I carry this thing around with me without any hope of making it better. Every itch, every scratch and every open bloody patch, it makes me hate who I am. Makes me question my selfesteem, and it hurts. Depression is a part of it, a part that exist but we can't or wont accept the same way we try to hide how much this desease is slowly killing us. I can be whole again, not just externally but internally because it matters to me. I'm sick of it, and wish I can get an answer from the medical community and have it not be a run around to fill the pockets of dermatologist.

Deano Riley hey im 18 had psoriasis for about 12 years now.. since i was 7,,, ive had every ointment probably going.. took all sorts of tablets such as neoral.. methatrexate ... the list goes on... ive noticed recently ive started to drink a lot more since i turned 18 as any normal 18 year old lad would do... but if i have say a couple of pints its fine but when i start drink hard liquors such as vodka or woteva it comes out so bad... last 2 weeks for the first time since i was 7 ive had it on my hands and feet.. its reall starting to annoy me now... ive had ultraviolet light treatment and at first it cleared it for about 12 months .. but since then its only seemed to cure it for a coulple so i think my skins is getting used to it.. ive read so many books about psoriasis and they all seem to say its to do with your diet...? but when i bring this up to my g.p he seems to always say it isnt..?? can u help me out?

Liela I have suffered from guttate Psoriasis since I was 15, so for 15 years now I have had flare ups every time I get strept throat which has only been about 3 times. Usually with the proper steroids it goes away after a week or two. This time however, it has sort of mingled on for about 2 months. On top of it, when my daughter got strept at the same exact time as I did, she had her first flare up and it too has lingered. We are both on a second round of Olux E and clobetasol ointment and it seems to be clearing up a little better now, but I fear we will break out again. I am not sure what to do, it is irritating to say the least.

Joanna Everett Hi my 13 year old daughter has really bad psoriasis on her head.We see a dermatologist at the hospital and are working our way through the creams and lotions until we find something to help.My daughter gets down about her head as she is at "that age" lol.If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks. Jo.x

Francois Joubert
Hi, my name is Francois Joubert and have psoriasis.
I have suffered from this condition since 1989 (20 years). Through the years I have tried almost all the products that lay calim to cure psoriasis or relieve the conditions. Some gave a bit of relief for a period of time while others had virtually no effect.
On a recent visit to my GP, she suggested that my condition is probably due to underlying stress. This is most probably true as I work away from and are always under stress to achieve project milestones. I have started using a herbal medicine to calm me down and make me sleep better and the signs are encouraging, although I still have flare-ups every now and then. I am still trying to determine what exactly cause these flare-ups but have not kept a detailed diary of my daily routine.
The only thing we can do is try and try again until someone find a true cure for psoriasis. One thing is true, there will be a lot of deliriously happy people around.
Monika at 4:10am June 12
you must find dermatologist that knows whatsup in psoriasis. otherwise each and everyone will be testing all creams and oitments like on the lab rabbit..often inceasing symptoms.
