If The Melvins, a ressurrected Bleach era Nirvana, Kyuss and Mondo Generator were to mutate into a hybrid supergroup, the results would probably sound like Psychogenetic.
Theres a lot to fault here, its sloppy, the live production gives it a very raw edge (perhaps a bit too raw) and ultimately it could be better

However, what Psychogenetic do offer us is some genuine rock music that is difficult to pigeonhole, certainly makes me want to rock out and ultimately has a rarely heard degree of realism. I can feel this band and that makes me more interested than any amount of good production and musical ability. There is that same quality that came blasting out of the stereo when I was first introduced to Fugazi or even Nirvana for that matter.

I like this band a lot. I am not totally convinced yet, but they can do what they do much better. This CD is a few months old now, so I hope good things have happened already.
