Hi Michael, It is cookie-related. When we put up the pages for the new symposium, lots of folks needed to delete their old networker cookies. If you can get into the site, please navigate to this page: http://www.psychotherapynetworker.org/contactus/online-troubleshooting. It will tell you everything we've learned about streamlining the process. ... See MoreOnce you delete cookies, please quit your browser and then open again. Please say if this helps. Carlos Sanchez I would like to read more articles about what the practitioners are doing in the trenches instead of theoretical articles. Possible themes: domestic violence; working with military couples; urban poor families; children obesity; medicalization of behavioral problems, etc. Those themes has been covered but too much theor...y, it is: missing especific programs in especific communities.

Three more suggestions 1. an evaluation of the family therapy programs at the university (are effective? are so many courses necessary? instructors that are not active practitioners with families? ) 2.the business of the evidence-based models (MST, MDFT, FFT) that were funded with taxpayers money and now the developers are becoming rich selling them; 3. the sham of the lecture circuit (as business, no contribution to improve the field).

Psychotherapy Networker In response to comments from folks about cost on December 16th: the best alternative is to volunteer. Simply register and choose that option. It is only $35/day. You must hurry as volunteer slots fill up quickly. There are discounts for groups up to 15% and students $50 off. Is it time to start thinking about how to ha...ve a "symposium experience" online? Please tell us what that would look like to you?

Psychotherapy Networker The Symposium Registration is LIVE. I'd love to hear some chatter from people who attended last year. Here are a few who were filmed—their five minutes of fame!

@Ileana - encourage them to volunteer & registration would only be $35! Even if they have to pay for travel/lodging, it's still quite the savings. It's a great experience & so worth it :)

Stacey Rose Hello Everyone,
I am excited to find PN on FB! What a wealth of resources PN has and how wonderful to be able to access it from this site. I am in private practice in Ocean, NJ and specialize in marital therapy; The Rose Relationship Learning Center, Because Relationships Don't Come with Directions! Also too, I have ju...st begun my dissertation on the impact of the economy on marital satisfaction. If anyone has any suggestions as to resources that would help or where I could find couples willing to be interviewed, I'd greatly appreciate it!
Thank you all and Happy Holidays!
Stacey Rose :)

Hi Stacey Rose - glad you posted. You've checked out our Couples articles in our Popular Topics section, right? Nothing specifically about the impact of the economy, but the impact of outside stressors on a relationship is absolutely discussed.

Adrian Marinovich

Adrian Marinovich I have a ticket to the Evolution of Psychotherapy program which starts Dec. 9, 2009. I am not able to use it. I checked with the institute that is putting on the event. They told me its ok with them if I transfer it. I have an email from them documenting that. So I would like to sell it for less than the current price.

I have mixed feelings about porn in general, having worked with women in the industry in my practice. The macro issues socially include abuse, acting out, addiction and treating people as objects to name a few. Also porn addiction is prevalent in the US, and hugely under-diagnosed.
With my couples, I've tried using written erotica successfully which adds dimension and story to the couple's sex life without the moral/ethical quagmire of pornographic pictures. Just another perspective.
