Pump Aid World Toilet day is on the 19th November and to highlight this and raise awareness to our Give A Sh*it campaign (GAS) we are asking Radio 1’s Chris Moyles show to play our 'Sh*it Song', live on air to his - 7 million listeners!Sanitation is not an issue that we really like to talk about – let alone expect you to. But i...t’s an issue we HAVE to talk about because so many people die when we let our embarrassment get in the way. In fact 2.5 billion people are currently living without adequate sanitation today. We want our 'Sh*t song' played on World Toilet day - we want to bombard the Radio 1 show with emails to get them to play our song, and need you to help us to make this happen! Pump Aid Thursday 15th October: The Global Poo Awards

The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, in association with PooP Creative, the London International Animation Festival (LIAF) and Pump Aid with the Global Handwashing Day coalition have launched a competition for short animation films, which tackle the serious is...sues of hygiene and sanitation in an engaging and thought-provoking way.

The shortlisted films will be screened at an awards ceremony named, 'The Golden Poo Awards' at 6pm this Thursday. The audience will vote on the films and winners will be selected on the night.



The winning films will form part of a global awareness-raising campaign in association with Global Handwashing Day to publicize the importance of good hygiene practice and adequate sanitation.



In addition to the film awards, there will also be awards to those who have made outstanding contributions to the world of hygiene and sanitation.

We will be highlighting World Water Day on the 20th March this year in association with Lovells LPP.

If you would like to come to the drinks and canapés reception hosted at Lovells LLP, an international law firm and long term fan of Pump Aid, then please RSVP to campaigns@pumpaid.org

There are limited spaces a...vailable so requests will be confirmed and accepted on a first come first served basis.

Photographs taken by the Times journalist Peter Nicholls will be exhibited and on sale throughout the evening.

These unseen images from the renowned photographer were taken on a recent visit to Africa (Zimbabwe and Malawi) and portray Pump Aids work with individuals and communities.

All proceeds from the images sold will go to Pump Aid.
