Putnam Humane Society Putnam Humane Society hosted a day of fun in the sun for Putnam dogs and their owners to raise money for the homeless cats and dogs living at the shelter. A few great shelter dogs were there too to meet the public and find forever homes.

Come on out with your best canine friend, a beach chair and blanket and spend the day! There will be lots of doggies for your canine to socialize with, plus food, music, doggie contests and games, amazing instant raffle baskets, great vendors and a walk through the woods too. This year we have a special kids' section ...with arts and crafts, a bounce house and other stuff to keep the kids entertained!
Strutt Your Mutt is one of biggest annual fundraisers for PHS so don't miss out on the fun! Collect pledges from family and friends and help raise even more money for the dogs and cats awaiting adoption at PHS. You can set up a personal pledge drive page at http://www.firstgiving.com/putnamhumanes
• Registration begins at 11:00 but you can come anytime. Check out the agenda for the day below to see what’s happening when.
We are also looking for volunteers for the event. Please email us if you can help for a few hours with sales or activities.

Putnam Humane Society Please pass the word to friends: PHS is at full capacity with cats and kittens and we are in desperate need of *foster homes* asap! (Photo of 3 candidates below.) PHS will supply the food, litter, medical care, etc. and you supply the love, care and socialization for a few weeks, a few months or until they are adopted (tell us what you are able to offer). Putnam Humane Society PHS staff & volunteers welcomed the public to the shelter to meet this year's kittens (and their mamas). The rainy weather cleared just in time to let us celebrate the babies with a bake sale, face painting table, cat-themed gift tables and goody bags.
Putnam Humane Society PHS sponsored a poster contest on the theme of "Be Kind to Animals" for school kids, and awards were given out on Saturday, May 16 at the Mahopac Library.
Putnam Humane Society PHS volunteers staffed a table at the annual Beacon Barks event, selling PHS logo-ed items and promoting the work of the shelter. Thanks to Bill Tuttle for the pix!

MAHOPAC - Coming this weekend is a place in Putnam County where dogs can legally run free off their leashes.
Putnam Humane Society PHS participated in this event with Rescue for Love and Paw-Safe. The crowd went crazy for Paw-Safe's puppies, but the 3 dogs from PHS got a good response too.
