Quarkspace Here's an article about this cool iPhone music app done by Eno, that we jammed with during our last session. Cool stuff!

Bloom is one of the most innovative App Store downloads. It brings a peaceful, calm interlude to any hectic day through interactive ambient music and graphics.

Can you also offer FLAC besides MP3? FLAC is normally offered by others especially for live recordings and more expensive but by far more superior in sound with better compression. And SG just found a FLAC mobile player so it out there finally. Just curious and I am sure you know all about FLAC?

I've got the FLAC files, but we don't want to push FLAC bandwidth through our website at this point. I even debated on taking the 320 mp3s down to 192. I couldn't even upload any of the 320 tracks here, because they are all bigger than 15meg! Hot, hot, set with long, confident jamming over everything. You can tell we are "mid-tour".

Quarkspace thinks it's a riot that one of the playable characters in Rock Band 2 is a Bootsy Collins looking dude named, Mothership Q. I guess we can't use that as an album title now.

It's videogame where one plays along with rock songs by pressing various buttons in time with the music. I've held the typical arrogant musician attitude towards the thing since it was released - that one should be playing their real instrument instead of a game. But Angela wanted The Beatles version, so we got all 3. It's fun. HW's Master of ... Read Morethe Universe just came out for it, but we are waiting until it's a download. Look at the video on my wall I posted off it a couple of weeks ago - the jist will be yours.

One of the most innovative features of the iPhone and the iPod Touch is its multi-touch interface which allows for a wide range of interesting musical applications.

Quarkspace going hard this weekend. Recorded Peter Fripp's (Robert Gabriel's??) "Exposure" for Dr. Moroni. Picked the tracks for Spacefolds 10. More work on the next studio album. Good jamming with the California Cheezer!

If all goes well I might have a standing gig every other Sunday there. Time is tight for me with the kids activities but we need to make time to get together. we can record some random playings and see what happens. That is usually the best stuff

Cool. Hope it goes well. Improv can be the coolest. It makes up about half of our output, more or less.

I think once or twice when doing Prince live - don't know if it was bootlegged - I would play the Funkadelic intro forwards instead of backwards - with the same samples and spacey sound effects. It must've been a long while back since I didn't bring that PFunk sample on to my newer sampler - which has a ton of Powerpuff Girls samples for some reason!

New, old Quarkspace tune on the player! It's called "This is not the Millennium", and it was one of the last cuts from Spacefolds 6, IIRC. It ended up being released on a sampler CD put out by Spain's Margen Magazine. I found it the other day when we were moving the record company inventory and business "stuff" down... into the studio. It's a freaky little loop-based thing, not really going anywhere until the end.Read More
