RED DIRT IMPROV
Red Dirt's Tyler Bryce will be teaching a six-week, improv workshop Thursday nights beginning Thursday, October 29 and running through December 10 (skipping Thanksgiving).
Tyler will teach the fundamentals of improv scene work through a series of improv games and exercises.
Acting looks to create a product for display.... Improv displays a process for the audience. Students will learn how to make and support strong choices that will propel scenes forward.
Tyler Bryce has been teaching improv for the last nineteen years all over the continent. While directing ComedySportz in Austin, Tyler developed a three-level improv workshop system in conjunction with the Zachary Scott Theatre Center that trained hundreds students in the art of improv.
In 2001, Tyler moved to NYC. He studied improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater (UCB) and the People's Improv Theater (PIT). He performed with New York's Improv Asylum, National Comedy Theater and ComedySportz.
Since moving to Oklahoma to attend college in 2006, Tyler has remained busy. He, at one time, directed both Red Dirt Improv and O.U. Improv! He also helped coordinate the enormously successful Improv Festival Oklahoma. Currently, he teaches improv to kids through the Boys and Girls Club of OKC.
Happy corporate clients include Dell, 3M, Hewlett Packard, The Texas State Comptroller, Pfizer, and The Oklahoma Blood Institute. Tyler has studied improv with various important people, most of whom would impress you if he mentioned them here.
Tyler is a Capricorn, a college senior, and enjoys long walks on the beach.
As far as parking goes, they are doing construction in the area, but you should be able to park just in front of the building (actually on Sheridan). I find the easiest way to get there is to take 40 to the Classen exit. Go north on Classen one block before taking a right on Sheridan. The Gallery will be on your right between Shartel and Lee.
The classes are $20 per session or $100 if you pay for all six classes in advance. Discounts are available for members of the IAO Gallery.
Please feel free to email Tyler for more details at aabnab@yahoo.com. Read More

RED DIRT IMPROV 10/10 show featuring guest stars Megan Flynn and Jaime Gonzalas from ComedySportz Austin

RED DIRT IMPROV seriously just rocked the faces off of our audience members for the 9pm show! Thank you all for your support (and laughs) without either we would feel alone and a bit awkward! Yay Improv!

RED DIRT IMPROV at 7 and 9, two great improv shows at the IAO's brand new Gallery space (706 W. Sheridan, between Shartel and Lee, Downtown OKC). This week's shows feature TWO special guests: Megan Flynn and Jaime Gonzales of ComedySportz Austin. They are old friends and are pretty darn good!

RED DIRT IMPROV
Some rivalries are too big to adequately describe in a Facebook Event invitation. This is one of them.
In May of this year, your Red Dirt "Oklahoma Witty Twisters" went to Austin to take on ComedySportz Austin in their home stadium. After an hour and a half of battle, Red Dirt stood victorious.
In early September, ...two of Red Dirt's founders, Clint and Buck, were extended an invitation to play again in Austin in what was supposed to be a delightful improv comedy show during the Out of Bounds Comedy Festival. They walked directly into an ambush. They were pitted against an unbeatable team. Sure, they fought valiantly, but at the end of the match, Austin had won. It was a dark day for Red Dirt.
This Saturday, October 10, we have lured two unsuspecting members of ComedySportz Austin into Red Dirt territory. Megan Flynn, a 20-year improv comedy veteran, was a member of the team that won the 2000 ComedySportz National Championship. She was also a member of the unbeatable team that took down Clint and Buck in Austin. She is bringing Jaime Gonzales, a 15-year improv veteran. Jaime is best known for his aggressive choices and melodic improv singing style.
The 7 o'clock show will be a blood bath. Come check out these two teams as they battle it out to see who can claim dominance in this new Red River Shootout. Two teams compete against each other in improvised sketches to see who can make the audience laugh more. Two teams will enter. Two teams will later exit, but only one will have won.
The 9 o'clock show will feature our guests playing in scenic improv structures with your Red Dirt favorites. This is a show about reconciliation.
It is a night of can't miss improv. Read More
