The current state of affairs has left The Nielsen Company with no other alternative but to immediately cease all services, products and events related to Radio & Records. The magazine's final edition is the June 5 issue. Electronic products end today, the Web site will be taken offline soon.

Anyone notice that the first few comments focused gripes about the behind the scenes aspects in radio that have changed? Radio will have a new place in tomorrow's world. That's okay. Things won't get back to the way they used to be.

Problem is, the RIAA thinks it should have a nice cut for themselves while both radio and the artists get little. I like this "all in one" idea.

I enjoy some of the HD2 stations in New York (e.g., WNEW), but I listen on the computer. I understand reception on HD radios is unreliable and complicated. Until that's resolved I can't see HD taking off, even if the Zune feature gets some modest traction.
