For sure add the Static FBML app (which allows you to paste in your own HTML), and use multiple iterations to include your opt-in box, Welcome page, Twitter button (see http://twitbuttons.com), etc. etc. Each tab has its own unique URL so you can spli...t test and/or use one tab for non-fans and one for fans. E.g. my fan page http://facebook.com/marismith goes to the Welcome tab for non fans. See also http://facebook.com/gary or http://facebook.com/target for other ideas.

A Forrester Research study recently revealed that companies who run contests, drawings, sweepstakes have TWICE as many social network fans as those who don't. Hmmmmm, food for thought!! :)
You might consider the sequence http://hootsuite.com > http://ping.fm > Twitter + Facebook Profile + Facebook Fan Page + LinkedIn etc. for *some* of your updates.
