In March 2006, Ready At Dawn® Studios released its first title Daxter® and the game became the #1 Playstation® Portable (PSP) game in America just two weeks after its debut in stores. Daxter® has taken gamers by storm and is now widely considered as the new standard for Playstation® Portable titles. In fact, Daxter® has won and been nominated for numerous awards in the interactive entertainment industry, including IGN’s Best PSP Platform game 2006, Best Graphic Technology, Best PSP game, BAFTA’s Best Children Game 2006, Gamespot’s Editors Choice Awards for Best Platform game of 2006 and the 2006 Interactve Achievement Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Character Performance Male and Action/Adventure game of the year. Daxter® was the first handheld game ever nominated in a non-handheld category at the Interactive Achievement Awards in 2006. Ready At Dawn® Studios was also the first startup to ever be signed by SCEA as first-party studio and was nominated for Best New Studio at the 2007 Game Developer’s Choice Awards. In March 2007, Daxter® became part of only a handful of titles to achieve the ‘PSP Greatest Hits’ status and be re-released as part of this prestigious collection.
Most recently, Ready At Dawn® Studios released their second title, a new video game for the tremendously high-profile God of War® series for Sony’s PlayStation® Portable. Just like it did with Daxter® before it, the team is once again pushing the boundaries of what is possible on Sony’s PSP and even before anyone had even seen a single screenshot, it had already become the most anticipated PSP® title to date. In 2007, IGN named God of War® as the greatest PlayStation® 2 game of all time, on their Top 25 PS2 Games list so it is only further testament to the talent of Ready At Dawn® Studios’ team that Sony® has once again trusted them with their #1 franchise to deliver an original game, entirely designed and developed in their Irvine, CA studio.
