Rebirth Brass Band The Roots of Music is a program designed to address the critical need for music education by providing an opportunity for middle-school children to participate in a citywide marching band program. Roots of Music will be a free, after school program for children between the ages of 9 and 14. The program will incorpora...te a hands-on music curriculum encompassing instruction in history, theory, instrument, physical training and performance. The goal is to serve children who do not have the financial resources to access music education independently. By rekindling the marching band culture for our children, we commit ourselves to preserving our city’s musical legacy and most importantly providing a positive alternative to street life.
