- Reheat Britain is the campaign for a Boiler Scrappage Scheme - just like the car scrappage scheme recently introduced - to help people replace their old, inefficient boilers.
By helping people install new Band A boilers we'd cut fuel bills and fuel poverty, create jobs and training opportunities, and help tackle climate change and our reduce our reliance on oil.

Five reasons to sign the petition for a Boiler Scrappage Scheme at http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/boilerscrappage/
1. A household that changes an old boiler for a new efficient boiler could save more than £200 a year in gas bills.
2. By replacing just some of the 4.5 million boilers that are less than 70% efficient, we could save thousands of tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year.
3. Boiler scrappage would support existing jobs for plumbers, builders and suppliers suffering from the recession, and create new green jobs and training places.
4. British manufacturers would also benefit, since a high proportion of gas boilers are still made here in the UK.
5. This would be far greener than the car scrappage scheme - building regulations say all new boilers fitted in homes have to be efficient condensing boilers.
