On Saturday, November 21, 2009 Renegade Handmade will celebrate the opening of their third ...Spotlight Series event, In Stitches Showcase. The showcase will feature the work of 15 artists including MummySam, Moxiedoll, PinPals, Chez Sucre Chez, Porterness and Gillian Bates. The showcase, curated by Renegade, will represent the spectrum of styles that top-notch fabric/fiber artists are working with today. Pieces will be offered for sale at gift-friendly prices for the holiday season. Merriment, book signing, socializing and free beer and wine will begin at 6pm.
In conjunction with the In Stitches Showcase, Renegade Handmade welcomes the most celebrated hand embroiderer, author, businesswoman, and artist of the D.I.Y. craft movement, Jenny Hart of Sublime Stitching. Hart will lead a free workshop on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 4:30pm to 6pm for the first 15 purchasers of Embroidered Effects, her newest instructional book. The book can be purchased from renegadehandmade.com or at their Division St. storefront. Hart will sign copies of this most recent installment of her impressive repertoire from 6pm to 7pm.
Renegade Handmade’s ongoing Spotlight Series project is dedicated to showcasing original works and merchandise by today’s finest contemporary indie-craft, art and design talents from all over the world.
In Stitches Showcase will remain on view through the New Year.

The Insound 10 Classic is a visual narrative of 20 years (1977-1997) of punk, new wave & indie rock told through the medium of rock posters, specially designed by Mike Perry - one of today’s finest design, typography, painting + illustration talents!
Bands showcased in the Insound 10 Classic include Richard Hell & the... Voidoids, The Feelies, Beat Happening, Galaxie 500, The Magnetic Fields, Sunny Day Real Estate, The Olivia Tremor Control, The Apples in Stereo, Sleater-Kinney, and The Promise Ring. All silkscreened poster prints are signed & numbered and are limited to 125.
