RESCUED!!!!!
*** CHIP – A862802 – 1 yr old NEUTERED Pointer/ Dalmation mix – 44lbs – Stray, 6/14
Chip... is a MILD on his SAFER. He was neutered and taken to an event. He didn’t get adopted and then got sick. He is on the euth list tomorrow for kennel cough
A volunteer wrote: Chip is the talk of the shelter these days: What is he? Some call him a Dalmatian, some call him a hound...but he is definitely a beautiful white dog with a mosaic of brown spots and streaks, brown ears, and one brown eye patch. If I had to guess, I'd say Pointer, but one thing is for sure: Chip is a calm, curious and gentle boy who loves attention and exploring in the grass. He would have been happy if I just let him sniff the grass in the park for hours, meticulously combing over trees and picnic areas for new and interesting smells. When I'd pat his back while he was sniffing, Chip wouldn't always stop what he was doing, but he'd wag his tail and lick my hand if he was close enough. This 1 year-old puppy seems housetrained, and was a complete joy on the leash -- no pulling, would redirect in any way I decided, and always stayed at my side. Chip is so cute that as soon as he got to the shelter, he was chosen for an adoption event. But he didn’t get adopted (no clue why), and then Chip caught the inevitable kennel cough, and he's been sadly sitting in the sick ward ever since. Ever since I've walked him, any time I pass his cage, he gives me a special howling to ask if I've forgotten about him. Of course, I haven't, and if you spend a couple minutes with this exotically-spotted boy, you won't be able to either.
