Since 1983, HEAV has been promoting and protecting homeschooling in Virginia through information, legislation, and resources. Full-time office staff and dedicated volunteers are ready to answer questions and provide counseling.
HEAV offers a FREE magazine and e-newsletter with up-to-date information and encouragement, one of the largest homeschool conventions in the country, a used-curriculum sale and statewide graduation, and an extensive Virginia homeschool website with support group listings and in-depth, Virginia-specific information on homeschooling, as well as the 1,000-page Virginia Homeschool Manual.

For the past two years HEAV has worked with local support groups on a fund raiser called Peel-A-Way where support groups get $4, HEAV gets $2 for a $12 retail cost coupon book good for area fast foo...d places where you buy one, get one free. Our first year had a good response, last year was not great and many small groups failed to mail in their left over coupons.
