El VCU College of Humanities and Sciences VCU commemorates the centennial anniversary of the founding of the Equal Suffrage League of Virginia, which took place Nov 20, 1909, at 919 W. Franklin St - now VCU's Crenshaw House. The ESL became the League of Women Voters of Virginia in 1920, one year after women won the right to vote. A Suffrage march and official renaming of Crenshaw House wil be held at noon on Fri, 11/20.

El VCU College of Humanities and Sciences VCU Cabell First Novelist Festival will be held on Fri, 11/6. Deb Olin Unferth will read from her winning novel Vacation at 6:30 in Richmond Salons, VCU Commons.

Following the reading, Unferth will take part in a panel discussion with her agent, David McCormick, and her editor from McSweeney's Eli Horowitz. The event is free and open to the public. A book-signing and reception will follow.
