Virginia Capital Trail Foundation Thank you to all who attended the downtown Richmond ribbon cutting last Thursday. Governor Tim Kaine said those words we've longed to hear: The future construction of the Trail is fully funded! Thank you Governor! And now Mayor Jones is a big supporter.

Virginia Capital Trail Foundation Yesterday a combined group of WAB and Charles City bicyclists enjoyed a joint ride along the Courthouse segment of the trail. We had a fun time and enjoyed lunch at the (Cul's Courthouse) Grille afterward. Alfred Crump, Director of CC Parks and Rec helped us organize the ride and we gave away five bike helmets. It was beautiful out there, crisp and cool!

A friend and I started our ride just before WAB began theirs. We ate lunch at the Charles City Tavern just a few miles from the Courthouse. We love the trail and can't wait for more of the trail to be finished!!! Awesome place to ride...

I rode right in into this ceremony! I came down the trail and, next thing you know, I'm right behind the Secretary and a ribbon! Sorry about that.

So that was you? No need to apologize at all. What better way to show how popular the trail is than having someone ride into the ribbon cutting ceremony? We tried to get a picture of you, but couldn't get the camera set in time. It would have been perfect!

Secretary of Transportation Pierce Homer will be speaking, among other notables. We'll be giving out bike helmets and generally having a great time. Hop...e to see you there! (The leaves along Rt.5 are spectacular this week!)
