Ten Things on Which Matt Taibbi Really Does Not Know What He Is Talking About - J. Bradford DeLong's
delong.typepad.com
It's hard to know how seriously one is supposed to take a Matt Taibbi who begins: >Obama's Big Sellout: Barack Obama ran for president as a man of the people, standing up to Wall Street as the global economy melted down in that fateful fall of 2008. ...

Rick Eichhorn And a corollary: ``We'' will fight to the proverbial death to be on the right side, where right means not that you are propagating truth, but that you won the argument by whatever means - where invoking the absurd (Nazis, Communists, Tyrants, Money-Printers, etc.) which causes your ``opponent'' to give up, is consider...ed winning. Then we have Krugman's Godwin's Law.

Rick Eichhorn Nice. I thought Godwin's law was something else, but oh well. Who is ``we'', though. I think we need a new law that generates this version of Godwin's law: Since the MB of figuring out on ``our'' own are much less than the associated MC, ``we'' will just go with the argument being made by whomever ``we'' like the mo...st, for whatever reason.

A growing number of Americans are becoming aware of the Federal Reserve System, what it is, how it has precipitated our financial crisis, and how it continues to pursue policies that delay economic recovery and weaken the dollar.

Rick Eichhorn I hadn't seen this until now. ``It took a lot of work to make it obvious.'' Nice.

Rick Eichhorn Looks like I lose again. But so did everyone else. This is the first woman to win an Econ Nobel. Joan Robinson should have gotten one, but was snubbed. Williamson was on some people's lists.

Rick Eichhorn Starting to think P.Romer is premature, but who else is on deck? Maybe Fama, but it'd be a weird year to award the efficient market hypothesis. Shiller, too soon. Maybe in 5 years. Gali, could be. This is looking better. Taylor - not a chance. Probably will wind up being someone not on the radar.

Rick Eichhorn Two additional entries to the nobel (econ) pool.
