Rick Santorum

Rick Santorum is debating healthcare reform with my former opponent and friend Sen. Harris Wofford this evening at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. It really is 1994 all over again!

Since the building bears the name Constitution....where is it in the Constitution that calls for healthcare for all?

If they can't even run cash for clunkers how can they POSSIBLY run 1/6th of the economy?

I think we need to open up competition across state lines and tort reform...if that doesn't work then let's take a look at it....

Rick, the question I'm not hearing, but believe we should be asking is this, "Is access to health care an individual right, or a responsibility?" I'd argue that in most cases, it is the individual's responsibility to maintain health insurance or the resources to pay for health care. There are certainly instances like trauma where ability to pay ... See Moremust not be questioned before care is given, but on the whole we must call for individual accountability. We must bare the consequences of our unhealthy lifestyles or habits, and others must not be forced to pay for our errors.

Insurance administrators deciding what procedures they'll pay for or govt beaurocrats deciding. Lower premiums but higher taxes and the special interest filter of govt. Less financial hardship caused by health problems, but more financial hardhip caused by higher unemployment. The promises sound great, until you consider the price. And for the life... See More of me, I can't understand why people think that "this time" the govt will deliver as promised. How many times are you going to try to kick that football, Charlie Brown?

WHAT THE HECK are you doing debating with this pro- abortion PA politician giving him any credibility? Many of us have lost friendships with pro-aborts because of their stand and to describe him as "your friend" takes away from your credibility. I adamantly opposed Wofford when he was in office. RINO tendencies are showing here.

Wholeheartedly disagree with you Rose. You sound like Al Gore- the debate is over, despite many not sharing your beliefs? I remind you that without democracy cannot exist without civil discourse.

This health care reform is unconstitutional. Those who believe that abortion is a "right" will also cross all and anyone's boundaries for any reason. This is obvious in this liberal march toward Marxism. The party who says they believe that a woman can do what she wants with her body, is now very anxious to control everyone's body 24/7, forget the individual's desires. My debate is based on facts, observation, and Truth, not my financial gain as it is with Al Gore.
