Ricochet

Ricochet It's the debut of a new Ricochet Podcast feature: The Ricochet Smack Down. This week, John Yoo and Richard Epstein enter The Octagon to argue whether the names of the so-called "Al-Qaeda 7" ought to be made public, the legality and morality of torture, and other associated issues (see NYT article here: http://nyti.ms/...dofoWA). It's reality TV, Ricochet style.

Duane Oyen

Duane Oyen Great stuff, especially Steyn, whom I usually don't hear because 1) I work at a job, and 2) I don't ever listen to Rush any more (more over style than substance, prefer Dennis Miller's show, plus more substantive podcasts). But someone please tell Richard Epstein that he was hard to hear (sounded like he was on a spea...kerphone), and that the rest of us on the Right still believe that we are at war and that certain habeas protections are not necessarily properly equally applied to non-citizens off of US soil. Good grief.

Hi Dwayne. Be sure and catch this week's podcast. Professor Epstein is back and this time (cue ominous music), he's wearing a headset.

You ask, we deliver: Richard Epstein takes it all on. Hope you enjoy this week's podcast. And honestly, if your job is interfering with your Steyn, our advice is to quit your job.

Keith Rickert Jr.

Keith Rickert Jr. I'm working my way through the podcasts and enjoying them *thoroughly*! Will they continue after Launch or are they merely a way to drum up support for it? It's unclear to me if Ricochet will be audio only, print only, or an admixture of both mediums...

Hi, Keith -- Well, our goal is to keep doing these weekly podcasts for as long as people can stand listening to us. But they're also a way to get people familiar with us, with Ricochet, and with what we're trying to create, which is a fun, snappy, smart conversation among the center/right in the country. Ricochet is going to live on the web and ... See Moreon your mobile device -- mostly text and photos -- but we'll also keep doing these podcasts and (fingers crossed) get into video soon. So, big plans. Stay tuned. And thanks for listening.

Peter Robinson Haley Barbour, filling in for Robert Siegel on NPR. Rob, I'm begging you. Tell us you'll find a way to work that into your new show. (Hat tip to Allan Grant, below.)

That would be cool. Hard to orchestrate, though. But it's fun to think about a Bizarro World NPR, where everything is reversed. Everyone has a southern accent. And "Nicaragua" is pronounced "Nick-uh-rahg-wah" and not "Neek-ah-rhagwah."

David Smith

David Smith I'm so glad that a "man with no face" is slated to join the roster of contributors. There is way to much discrimination against the facially challenged. Kudos "man with no face."

Well, "Man with No Face" is great contributor, but he's hard to read. Still, he's somehow more facially expressive than Nancy Pelosi.

Two things happened today, Daniel, to redeem an otherwise dreary weekend: My 13-year old son advanced his seventh grade basketball team to the finals by scoring a basket with only one second remaining in the game. And you put up this post. Muchisimas gracias. (On Tuesday, btw, I'll be taping an epsiode of Uncommon Knowledge with Victor Davis Hanson.)
