Friends of Rams Cycling, (FRC) functions as the bicycling athletic booster club for the Rams Cycling Team. The organization is comprised of multiple levels of involvement and membership. The largest group is that of the general members who have indicated they have an interest in periodic news updates from the team, but have not necessarily made donations or offered any support. If inclined, members can make a donation to the team at one of three levels; Ram’s Gold, Ram’s Fan and Ram’s Basic. Lastly, there are the members serving on the FRC Board of Directors. The Board’s primary function is to support the officers of Rams Cycling, providing a steady hand from year to year and providing advice when requested. FRC is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization. FRC was created in June of 2003 to fill a void. The CSU Rams Cycling Team is a student run club sport team at Colorado State University, and almost by definition has a high turnover rate. This often leads to a cycle of good years when student leadership is strong, and then a downturn once those leaders move on. Thus, the organization is at the whim of those students who chose to be involved – good or bad. FRC was created to provide an external ongoing source of support and stability for the team. |
