Trail great for Birding and diversity of fungus!
Brooker 8,500-acre wilderness area located in the northeastern corner of Pinellas County. Ecologically it supports and protects white-tail deer, wild turkey, otter, gopher tortoise, bobcat, and coyote. Many of these species are abundant in the Preserve but are found now...here else in the county. There are also less common species such as the endangered Catesby lily, a variety of orchids, Bachman's sparrows, and the tiger swallowtail butterfly that find refuge within the Preserve. The Friends Trail was built by the Friends of Brooker Creek Volunteer Organization that works toward bettering the preserve for public recreation.

Riverbanks Outdoor Store Buck Island Pond Nature Trail is a 2 mile tract in Goethe State Forest that captures your interest as it leads you through a diversity of habits such at wet prairie, cypress dome, oak hammock, up a pine ridge, down a pine scrub then eventually to a boggy piney lowland as you make your way around the pond.
