WDBJ7 A shelter has been set up for people who evacuated their homes because of the hostage standoff in Wytheville. It is at the Wytheville Fire Station at 185 W. Spring St. The gunman has allowed the hostages to have food. We now have an ID on one of the hostage. Check wdbj7.com

WDBJ7 Latest from Wytheville hostage situation: State police say they don't believe any of the hostages have been injured at this point. They still have contact with the gunman and are negotiating with him. So far, he has not made any demands.

I am grateful to who ever cleared the worst of the snow from my driveway here in Eden, NC! I am pretty sure snow shoveling was on that long list of things I am not supposed to do post cancer surgery! I was just planning to stay home but now I am ready if I have to go out! Thanks!

WDBJ7 There is a 20-mile traffic back up on I-81 north this morning. Most of the trouble is in Botetourt and Rockbridge Counties. State police are diverting traffic off the interstate at exit 180. Abandoned vehicles are really clogging things up on the major highways.
