Seattle, WA
Saturday, June 27 at 12:00am

Sarah at 10:45pm July 2
Do the full next year and instead of just your feet...it will be your whole body. :)

Wendy Can you still get a entry for 2010 for $50 or was that only at the Expo?

Christine fantastic race! had so much fun, and lots of memories. i lost a toenail though! haha all worth it for the experience and the chance to see such a wonderful city.

Sherry I have read nothing about the Keb Mo concert? How was it?

Christine at 4:48pm July 2
it was great! they could not have chosen a better performer for after a marathon. it was the perfect summer evening, the music was relaxing, and everyone had a great time :)
Michelle at 5:21pm July 2
How many people were there? I didn't go b/c website said venue hold 5000-didn't think everyone would fit and didn't feel like hassling with traffic and crowds and possibly turned away.....

Janet Palmer I missed the eagle myself but found this picture of it someone else (can't remember who) had taken so I'll share it. Wonder what that bird was thinking!

Jim Wittes I'm wondering if someone could help me out. My friends and I have different memories on how the half marathon finished. After the course came off the viaduct onto first avenue, did the course turn left at Royal Brougham Way (Safeco Field entrance for those not from Seattle) then left onto Occidental or did it cut left through a parking lot prior to RBW?
Janet at 12:12am July 2
left on royal brougham, left on occidental to finish. the full cut thru the lot short of rbw.
Lisa at 7:17am July 2
Actually, the half did cut through the parking lot just short of the Silver Cloud Inn (which is on the corner of 1st & Royal Brougham). Then left onto Occidental...

Sandra at 9:30am July 2
That's my memory too, Lisa. The musician in the red suit made it especially memorable.

David What an outstanding marathon! From the Expo, to the course, to the volunteers, to the cheering crowds and perfect weather, it was Seattle at its finest! The only change needed? Instead of having us run PAST Qwest Field at mile 23 and into the bleak, desolate shipyards, tweak the route so the last few miles are as beautiful as the first 23. Otherwise, the best marathon I have ever been in! What a fantastic Pride festival the next day too. Seattle ROCKS!

Daria Pilipczuk Wonderful in all aspects...except my time. But, how could I expect a decent time when there was sooo much to see along the course. I just stood there and watched the bald eagle for like 10 minutes.....that was the highlite of my run.

Maria Mitchell Seattle, thank you for an amazingly wonderful time! I will be back next year!!! Maria, Idaho Falls, ID

Anne Tallett Love the city of seattle! Had an awesome time except for the hill at the end-what was up with that?!?

Marilyn Haas Rock on Seattle ! A great Inaugural event! SO much to see and do in your beautiful state!

Natalie Muir Kartchner It was beautiful.. however..running by the finish line 2x was terrible! Complete torture! I don't think all those hills showed on the elevation map either... However- it was an unforgetable experience! Love the bald eagle pic as well!

I'd like to see some major changes in the course, but I'd bet the logistics would be difficult. I did not mind the up-and-back over the I-90 bridge, but the course could've/should've incorporated more of Seattle, rather than just those expressways that isolate the runners from the city. Why not run on First Street past Pike's Market? Why not the neighborhood around the Space Needle? Why not go over one bridge in Ballard and back over another?

Chantha at 12:08am July 2
I agree some parts of the course could use a change. I hope the start will be different, there are not many entry points into that area, makes it real difficult to get in there. Instead of the viaduct, where as many of stated, people can't really chear you on and no crowd can gather, how about the waterfront or first avenue. The I-90 loop was fine, but after that the two others were killers, though quite a experience, as I've never done something like those before.

Sue McKinnon This was the most beautiful marathon. I truly hated the out and back miles 22-26. It was torture. I ran slow because of a torn knee. I promised the Dr. I would go slow. I will come back next year with my Honored Teamate from LLS. He wants to do the Half!!!!Thanks to all volunteers! we could not do it without you.

Sarah N Steve McCoy Anyone itching to run? I'm going crazy but my body says don't even think about it. :)

Andrea Hawkins Schoellkopf My chip time was just adjusted by 3 seconds (my favor), in case anyone was getting medals engraved ... you might want to check again.

Andrew at 2:17pm July 1
Same here as well. Anybody have any thoughts as to why?
Andrea at 2:40pm July 1
In Phoenix they adjusted and it knocked 2 minutes off my time.

Karen Thanks RNR-Seattle, the volunteers, and citizens of the Emerald City and Tukwila! I didn't want to leave, as y'all really know how to throw a party! Wonderful weather (it was 87 degrees when I got back home...at midnight!), a win by your hometown Seattle Storm, and a wild-n-crazy Pride Parade and Festival. And that's in addition to a beautiful course. I'm putting RNR-Seattle on my calendar!
