Mad Man Bamboo Nursery Found this beauty in my photo file..... Borinda fungosa, a clumping bamboo that needs shade in the Sacramento area. I have seen it named 'Chocolate Bamboo' although not an official name. This bamboo is really nice and the lime green leaves contrasts really nicely with the dark chocolate culms.

Mad Man Bamboo Nursery Another one that gets red coloring in the culms is Phylostachys bambusoides 'Castillon.' I've noticed that this tends to happen when temperatures cool and it gets sun exposure. This is also a running bamboo.
