It seems unbelievable today, but 20 years ago some very high muck-mucks in the State Department fought tooth and nail against including the "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall" line in the Brandenburg Gate speech. Th...ey tried to strong-arm the 30 year-old speech writer into getting the President to delete it. Somehow, and luckily for us, none of them had the guts to approach Mr. Reagan themselves!Read More
