Finally home after an awesome tour!! Thanks to all our friends and new fans that made it out to see a show! HUGE thanks to Jesse & Leslie and Jake & Amber and anybody else that let us get refreshed at their house! HUGE, HUGE, HUGE thank you to Brian & Christie for being the BEST support crew ever!!! We burned waste veg...etable oil as fuel for over half the journey, cutting our fuel cost in half as well as reducing our carbon footprint. There was some labor involved, but once some kinks were worked out, in the end it was well worth it! check out www.vegpower.com for info on diesel>veg conversions!!!
Come check us out on Halloween at The Loading dock in T.C. !!!Read More

Hey Friends!
Thanks for your interest in this year’s Rootenanny! It is sure to be a great time… The Rootenanny, firstly, is our annual party/potluck, in Kinglsey, MI. This years theme is Biodiesel awareness. We are in the process of converting our bus to be able to burn used veggie oil, so any donations of oil would be ...appreciated, the cleaner, the better. Diesel engines have the unique ability to be able to burn used veggie oil, but we have decided to hire a professional bio-mechanics to engineer, and install a top level system. This will allow us to burn clean veggie-oil for years to come, and all but eliminate our fossil fuel imprint while touring. In addition, it will allow us to divert sorely needed funds to art based needs, like studio time, and material needs like other bus costs, and sound system overhead. Your support of the Rootenanny will in part go towards the significant cost of our high quality conversion.
Ok, here’s the long awaited details…
Where is it? The Rootenanny is open to the public, but is still considered a private, donation based event.
If you are coming from the Traverse City, go south on Garfield Rd. until you approach Kingsley, Voice Rd. will come up on your left, a few miles past Mayfield, and across from a gas station. This is the closest and best place to grab ice, beer, etc. Take the left onto Voice and follow it all the way to the corner of Voice and Knight roads. When traveling east on Voice, be aware that staying on Voice requires a second left about halfway to Knight Rd., it takes a jog/bend and the straightaway won’t get ya there…when you get to the corner of Knight and Voice, take a left, and the Rootenanny will come up on the left. Look for signs, as you have to travel through the national forest for a ¼ mile or so to come to the actual festival site.
If you are coming from the south or north via 131, you want to go west on M-113, which is between Cadillac and Kalkaska, and a few miles before or after the highway part of 131 ends/starts, depending on your direction….follow 113 west until you come upon Hodge Rd. a few miles east of Kingsley. There is a pretty large sign for this road, and Knight Rd. comes up right after it. Knight is the one you want, just take a right on Knight and follow it back past the corner of Voice Rd… and again look for the signs, it’s on the left through the national forest…
Music Starts around 6pm on Friday, and the schedule though subject to change, is roughly as follows
Friday: 7pm Pinky Lee…this folk sister duo is steaming up the folk scene with there stellar vocals and folk stylings.
8:30 pm :Cap’n Crunch and Cereal Killers… whacky fun bluegrass with some wholesome roots in it.
