French Vincent Vittoz made a great performance this week-end in Beitostolen for the first World Cup race of the season in Norway.
Indeed, 4th in the first part of the competition, Vincent achieved a nice finish to cross the line of the 15 km in 2nd position, by only 2 tenths from the victory.
“I’m happy to be on the podium today. For sure 0,2 seconds are not much but to be on the podium in the first World Cup race shows me that I am on the right way. I was in the summer not so strong but that was also not the goal. My shape increased in the past month, I felt ready for the World Cup and came here with a lot of confidence.”

On the relay raced yesterday, 5 Rossignol racers climbed onto the podium!
In the men’s competiton, Eldar Roenning wins with the Norwegian team ahead of the German racers with Jens Filbrich and Tobias Angerer.
On the women’s side, we find the Finnish team with Virpi Kuitunen and Aino-Kaisa Saarinen on the 3rd step of the podium.

A large crowd of 30.000 spectators was in Moscow last Saturday to cheer the slalom racers come for a Slalom exhibition on a 200 meters long and 70 meters high ramp.
After several eliminatory runs, Swede Frida Hansdotter wins the little women’s finale and takes thus 3rd place of the competition. The same for Michael Janyk, the Canadian cowboy in the men’s exhibition!

Xavier just coming back from Antarctica, he tell us more on his trip: " The boat is rolling through the Drake Passage.... We just left yesterday and all I can say about that trip is that this place is like something never seen before. We've had it amazingly good, we've had at least a little bit of sun everyday and most of all discovered this surprisingly powerful place.
The variety of the terrain, the snow quality and the challenges we've been going for have made this trip really special. It's been once again a pleasure to have Jeremy as a partner as we really enjoyed sharing our skills in these intense moments.
I won't say more for the moment but these pics will give you a rough idea of our trip.

After having clinched the Indoor European Champion title last week at Amnéville, Jean-Baptiste Grange started the Slalom World Cup very well this week-end in Levi (Fin).
Indeed, the French racer takes 3rd place of the stage in spite of a big mistake in the second run.
«Today was a good fight! Everybody skied at its highest level. So, I am happy to finish on the podium, this means that I am in good shape and ready to be in the lead for the next races.
After my big mistake in the second run, I didn’t believe that I could be on the podium.
Perhaps I missed nervousness for the victory and I’ve been trapped on the flat part in the first run but the assessment of the day is positive! This was not the perfect race but I go for this 3rd place today and it’s nice! »

"It's been two days since we've left Ushuaia. We still haven't reach the peninsula and I've spent most of my time lying in bed to avoid the sea sickness. I've puked a bunch of times.... but the sea seems to be getting better as we are approaching South Georgia Island. It’s quite unreal the atmosphere there is, crossing the famous Drake passage, (worse crossing in the world) surrounded by these massive waves. We've seen a few whales already, the crew is really excited despite the long journey... Can't wait to see what's on the other side...!"
