Simone Rubi (of Rubies ) and Daniela Gesundheit (Snowblink, Bruce Peninsula) are two California natives that met in San Francisco, but became deep pals in Toronto. Simone was in town for a couple of months to work on winter-songs, while Da...niela had recently moved to Toronto in a more permanent way. When Simone’s Ventura, California friends, Tall Tales and Seth Petterson decided to route their tour through Toronto, the ladies had the thought of arranging a proper musical introduction between two of their favorite places: California and Toronto.
On Monday August 24th at the Music Gallery, Daniela and Simone will present a night of songs featuring current Californians, California-born-Toronto-residents, and purely Canadian friends of Californians. It will be an indoor-outdoor affair (the hang is permitted to spill onto the courtyard) with special guest duets, some beachy covers, and a cozy installation by the presenters.
Each performer plays 3-4 songs.
