Just received a note from SGM Schneier, the Veteran's Day 5k organizer for Baghdad. He writes, "Several hundred are registered to run. Everything is going well. I would like everyone to send me were they are going to be running so that I can publish how many are running with us. Thank you all." He is checking our Fac...ebook event page, but if you'd like to write, his address is: roughridr7 [at] yahoo [dot] comRead More

I will participate from Boulder CO, in the name of Greg Wagner and Mike Frank. Both of these guys served our country with valor and integrity. Their memory lives on. Also, thank you to everyone in the service for the sacrifices they make for us all.

Shadow run: What is it? Shadowing a run event means you run at the same time as the event participants, but from another location, and for most that means, from another time zone and country. For the Baghdad run, anyone wishing to Shadow Run may lace up and run at 8pm on Nov. 13th, 2009 (PST). For those on the East ...coast, it's 11pm. At this time, you will be simultaneously running alongside troops in Baghdad.Read More

Me and my family will run for the fallen this Saturday at 8:00pm. My son gave his life for our country on April 2004 - Iraq. He was a runner too. He ran his first marathon at age 9. Now my entire family runs the Marine Corp Marathon every year in his honor.. His name is Major Richard J Gannon II, USMC. Let's all keep running for our fallen heroes!

Dear Brigid, Thank you so much for remembering. Yes, the full toast has been said in the Cleary household for sometime, and goes like this: "To them that's here, ~ them that's gone, ~ them we'll see again." Trusting that we will see them again~
