The MPs expenses scandal is all about economic inequality. It would never have happened if MPs hadn't been trying to 'earn' as much as others such as headmasters, managers, etc. For narrowly political reasons, MPs were reluctant to award themselves salary increases...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8344176.stm If only Wise had had the grace to admit that he is an expenses fraudster a few months back, I surely would have been elected Green MEP for Eastern England, in June. As it is, the b**tard's having held out for 4 years (4 years!) before admitting guilt has meant that once ag...ain UKIP have 2 MEPs in Eastern England, managing to hold onto a second MEP by narrowly defeating me. Rupert Read We live in a completely-madly unequal world. ANY progress towards equality has to be good, by reference to and contrast with where we are right now. So: Let's deliberately make progress toward equality. The point about most policies that supposedly help the poor today - e.g. New Labour policies - is that they continue to ACCENTUATE poverty. That's just crazy.
