A few months after releasing a new collection of songs into the world, Ryan McMahon, joined by long-time band-mates Dustin Young and Mike Rogerson (who doubles as producer) is gearing up for a very big 2008/2009.

Since signing up with new management, Mission Entertainment, in May of 2007, the band has been much busier than in previous years. When not recording in the studio, Ryan and the boys have road-tested their songs with several successful tours of Canada, sold out local shows in Vancouver and been recognized at the top of their genre in the West Coast International Songwriting Competition for the song “Weeks, Months, Years.”

Several singles from the record “Weeks, Months, Years” have received National radio-play, including heavy play from CBC. Music BC has recognized Ryan’s single “Comeback” as one of 20 songs on their music licensing compilation cd.

From summer thru to the end of September of ’08, the band is touring Canada on a 30+ date, 6 weeklong homeland tour that includes dates at Toronto’s legendary Horseshoe Tavern and a headlining spot at Vancouver Island’s Folkfest.

With influences like Warren Zevon, Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin, Ryan Adams, and Bob Dylan, Ryan McMahon’s sound is as varied as his personality. Mixing equal parts of tongue-in-cheek humor with tragedy and heartbreak, the songs that come out are all easily related to by many a music fan.

Over the past few years, Ryan and his versatile band have opened for everyone from Nickelback to Lisa Loeb to Daniel Powter, and with many of their goals now seemingly in their sights, chances are you’ll be hearing more of Ryan McMahon very soon.
