From what I understand, incoming freshman (class of 2013) are not yet in the system to have SAVMA numbers.Your best bet would be to contact Theresa De Carli at the AVMA (tdecarli@avma.org) She should be able to help you out.

SAVMA What are your thoughts? Do you live in an area with mandatory spay/neuter laws? How do you think it could impact vet med?

Well, the concept behind this research is to show that genes for specific enzymes/proteins/phenotypes can be inserted into mammalian cells which has implications for gene therapy to treat diseases such as Parkinson's and other genetic disorders. I just hope it doesn't turn into glow-in-the-dark dogs as a "cool pet" because that is definitely NOT something that we need in the world!
