SF International Arts Festival SFIAF is looking for volunteers for our fundraising party at Jelly's nightclub on November 11th, 2009 and for the staged readings of "Wounds of the Izote" which are on November 16th and 18th. lf you want to help out and have a great time let us know!

SF International Arts Festival
Izote is a bilingual (English/Spanish) play that weaves together the story of three generations of one family who lived through the horror of the US funded El Salvadoran Civil War and its aftermath; the subsequent refugee migrations to the United States, the resulting formation of immigrant gangs in California cities a...nd their impacts on the US and Central America.
The first reading is on Nov. 16th at Studio Theatre, University of San Francisco, Lone Mountain Campus, Turk & Parker SF 94117
The second reading will be on Nov 18th at Centro del Pueblo, 474 Valencia Street, Second Floor Auditorium, SF 94110
Both reading will start at 7pm and admission will cost $5.00

Join the San Francisco International Arts Festival (SFIAF) on Wednesday November 11, as the organization unveils the line-up for SFIAF 2010 and throws a party to raise funds at Jelly's Night Club, located on the Embarcadero at Pier 50 (with plenty of free parking!). Meet some of the artists who will be participating in... the Festival next year, dance to the wonderful music of Orqesta Borinquen led by Bill Ortega with a host of special guests including multi-Grammy nominee John Santos on Congas, John Calloway on flute and Wayne Wallace on trombone. Also enjoy performance art, good food and drink specials with the Festival’s artists, staff and board members.

North Indian classical music's rising sitar player Smita Nagdev delivers her American debut performanc...e. A protégé of the legendary sarod player Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Smita draws from a deeply nuanced, improvisatory musical tradition in order to craft an experience of awakening and peace through music. She is accompanied on the tabla by Debopriyo "Bubai" Sarkar.
