Last July 23, the Asia Pacific Centre for Research launched a seminar entitled Predict Tomorrow Today with Predictive Analytics. The said seminar was geared towards introducing Predictive Analytics to commercial enterprises to give them a competitive advantage in their respective fields. The event was held at the Caser...oom, RCBC Plaza Makati. A total of 47 participants from over 29 different industries attended the said seminar. These industries ranges from telecommunication, banking and finance, insurance, pharmaceuticals and communication industries. THe guest speaker is Ms. Marianne Grace Badillo from the Manila Electric Company. She talked about Meralco's Fraud Detection Pilot Study 2006. Last June 25 (Thursday), a small group of government agencies participated in the SPSS seminar entitled “Effective Statistics in Government”, held at the Learning Institute of Waltermart Makati. The event illustrated and emphasized the importance of statistical analysis applicable to government agencies – research, pro...gram evaluation, reporting, crime detection and other forms of effective governance. About 20 participants from 8 schools attended this event which was held at the Instructional Media Center at the University of Nueva Caceres, the first university in the Bicol region. Dr. Purba Rao from Asian Institute of Management presented a detailed discussion on Predictive Modeling. And Mr. Johnny Amora from the College of Saint Benilde, gave a lecture on Structural Equation Modeling. The first ever SPSS Client Workshop here in the Philippines was successfully conducted last April 29, 2009. Around 25 clients from different industries participated in this significant event held at the Far Eastern University.
