Safe Work Month 2008

Safe Work Month 2008 Week One was an overwhelming success! We had a wonderful start with a beautiful sunny day for the Port Lincoln Launch. We heard from guest speakers, Executive Director of SafeWork SA Michele Patterson, who Spoke on behalf on Minister for Industrial Relations the Hon Paul Caica, Advisory Committee Chairperson Tom Phillips, and the Hon Liz Penfold, Member for Flinders. The Port Lincoln Bowls club did a wonderful job catering and ensured no-one went hungry.

We were lucky enough to have the Whyalla Launch in Bob’s Home Hardware, where the staff went out of there way to make the launch extra special. We heard from SafeWork Sa’s Joe Paparella, Advisory Committee Chairperson Tom Phillips and Whyalla Mayor Jim Pollock. A big thank you to Advancing Whyalla for their wonderful breakfast.

All the workshops in Port Lincoln, Whyalla and Roxby Downs were very well attended, with organizers having to arrange extra chairs for all the walk-ins!
