I really like the way California has set up it's medicinal marijuana program. You have to be 18 (or 21.. I can't remember) to get a prescription, there are specific doctors you can go to get the prescription (so nobodies going to family practitioners to ask), you can get a variety of bud from just one shop (that's right.. they have shops with counters full of whatever you want), they don't put crap in the weed because it's medical grade... I think medicinal is the way to go!!!

Tucker. you're also forgetting that testing for the presence of THC is a benefit to parents who want to prevent their kids from smoking. Alcohol test kits only work for a very short time after a person has drank, and THC binds to fat cells and stays in your system for a week or longer. Concerning your driving argument, take a look at this article: http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=5450

Yes, but it'd be different because parents could have it out freely around the house. It'd be loads easier to get at a younger age.
Think about it.

Mission:
SAFER's goal is to educate the public about the fact that marijuana is less harmful than alcohol to both the user and to society.

Alcohol prohibition is widely recognized as a dismal failure. Despite marijuana prohibition being an equal or greater failure, it somehow maintains public support. Once the public comes to accept the fact that marijuana is safer than alcohol, support for marijuana prohibition will crumble.

SAFER carries out its mission by conducting educational activities and earning on-message media coverage. SAFER's lobbying arm, the SAFER Voter Education Fund, supports local and state ballot initiatives. These campaigns provide extensive opportunities to generate news coverage while actually amending local and state marijuana laws.
