
Cherokee Park United Church This was the second retreat for our Faith Questers. The focus include a session on racism in which we viewed a video disclosing cultural racism embedded in Disney films. Our faith focus was on the life mininistry and meaning of Jesus Christ. The youth also found many fun ways to keep themselves engaged.

Cherokee Park United Church For the third year in a row Cherokee Park United Church provided support and hospitality to the West Side Youth Farm. The Youth Farm teaches children about care for the earth, healthy living and eating, living in community, embracing diversity and developing as leaders. Children and youth helped prepare meals using the Churche's kitchen and in the afternoon participated in cooking classes.

Cherokee Park United Church In July Cherokee Park United Church once again hosted a three week summer peace camp for children on the West Side. In collaboaration with All Around the Neighborhood, approximately 90 children participated during the course of the three weeks. This year's Peace Camp had a focus on Human Rights and was led by a dyanmic young adult from Macalester College by the name of Julia Smith.

Cherokee Park United Church Rev. Joanne Sylvander again provided leadership for this year's reading camp at Torre de San Miguel. The theme Joanne chose was opposite. 36 children from kindergarten through grade 5 spent a week of fun learning with friends from Cherokee Park United Church.

The ASDIC Program is led by Dr. Herbert Perkins with skilled facilitators trained in ASDIC principles and methodology.
