I would really like to see a retrospect Exhibit on the collection of Minnesota based toy designers and Companies. Displaying the past and present of local toy designs such as Tonka's Pound puppies, Gobots and Tonka Trucks, Lakeside Toy's "Perfection" and schaper toy's very own "Stomper".
Not limited to just the ones I l...isted.

All these companies where based out of Minnesota and would make a great exhibit explaining their efforts, problem solving and craftsmanship on prototypes, drawings, commercials, interviews, packaging and yes physical toys.

Last month in the Lower lever of the Hennepin County Government Center they displayed the Patent Illustrations and the story of the local Minnesota man that invented Cooties the game.

Good Design: Stories from Herman Miller explores the collaborative problem-solving design process employed at the world-renowned furniture company, Herman Miller, Inc. Organized by the Muskegon Museum of Art (MMA) in collaboration with The Henry Ford, Dearborn, Michigan, the exhibition draws upon that institution’s He...rman Miller Design Collection– a comprehensive archive of the company’s innovative processes and products.

The inspiration for the exhibition came from Good Design: Stories from Herman Miller by design scholar and authority John R. Berry, first published by Rizzoli International in 2004. Berry also served as the exhibition’s guest curator. An extraordinary partnership with The Henry Ford made available the vast resources of that institution’s Herman Miller Design Collection, most of which has never before been on public view.

Organized by the Department of the Chief City Architect of Warsaw City Hall

This exhibition presents twenty works of recently built architecture – public, commercial, and residential - that are a confirmation of Warsaw's European aspirations. Reaction to these buildings ranges from respect and admiration to controversy ...and stormy debate. The exhibition features buildings financed through public as well as private funding. Most of the designs for public buildings were the result of architectural competitions – a practice deeply rooted in the architectural tradition of Europe. Cosponsored by the Polish American Cultural Institute of Minnesota.

Join us for the world-unveiling of an exclusive new line of seven painted shoes by artist Logan Real representing the stage towns of the 2009 Tour de France. Logan Real Design was founded on the principal of fusing art and fashion in an expression of the wearer's inner voice. At the reception, meet Real who will talk a...bout this project and his previous designs.

Real, a Miami-based designer, said: "...in partnering with GMD, it's a nice fit and a good stage to launch this exclusive concept. When initially approached by the towns, I immediately know this would not only be fun, but [an opportunity] to give back..."

See Real's hand-painted "Marilyn" shoes in GMD's exciting exhibition "Intersections: Where Art Meets Fashion," open through November 1st. The Logan Real TDF 2009 shoes will be on display September 21-17 and will be auctioned online to benefit GMD and Livestrong.
