From oozing volcanoes to icy slides, children are invited to experience the best of both Prehistoric Worlds: Fire and Ice. A recent survey showed that dinosaurs were among the most popular ideas for a new exhibit, so the Minnesota Children’s Museum has been at hard at work to bring Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and Ice to ou...r guests.
The brand-new exhibit is the first-child centered exhibit in the country dedicated to expanding the understanding of dinosaur habitat and range. Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and Ice will transport families back to the Cretaceous Period (100 – 65 millions years ago), the time when dinosaurs roamed the earth, and will provide guests with the opportunity to go face-to-face with the prehistoric world and meet dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes.
Children will be encouraged to use inquiry skills to examine what dinosaurs left behind, participate in a Field Research Station to step into the role of a paleontologist uncovering fossils, and explore the many mysteries of how these animals live.
The exhibit is open from December 19, 2009 – May 31, 2010.
